Dolly Artistry was involved with a wonderfully delicious and glamorous event called "The Big Tease" on Saturday April 9, 2011. It was a charity event hosted by the fabulous company Cake Tease with all proceeds going to the Enspire Foundation. They design incredible masterpieces of artwork in the form of cakes. We were fortunate enough to be part of an opportunity to do the hair & makeup for the event.
XOXOlat was there with these divine lifelike shoes created out nothing but chocolate...seriously. I didn’t believe it! I felt an urge to just steal two, put them on my feet and wear them for the night because they looked way to precious to be made out of chocolate. Sadly they were not my size.
Dolly Artist Kim Desautels contributed her talented makeup artistry skills to the event by giving the team a natural yet stunning look. She applied the makeup for hostess and creator of Cake Tease: Theresa Lanziner. Theresa looked as glamorous as any baking pinup model could aspire to be. She inspires me to throw on my fancy red lipstick and crinoline dress next time I whip up a batch of cupcakes! They even had a photo booth set up for you to take your own silly head shots. Provided by Facebox Media just so nobody missed out on the fun.
Darryl Humphrey was the talented Photographer for the entire promo shoot before the event. Of course his charming accent told me he was from London, UK. His unique personal style however, should have been the dead giveaway! Darryl made sure everyone on the shoot was comfortable and really brought out the best in each of the three beautiful women on the team. Not to mention how he protected those chocolate shoes. (Only two broke, not as bad considering how many of those were on display.) It was scary doing touch ups for the hair and makeup simply because we didn't want to step on anyone's shoes. (Ok bad joke.) On a serious note though I think for my birthday I will be ordering a pair for myself. That and a massive lipstick shaped cake! Vancouver beauty has never tasted so good.
